Watercolour holidays in France - Locally sourced food and wine

You don't need to think about food on the arrival day, as a barbecue with unlimited wine will be served to all guests giving us a chance to get to relax and know each other.

We will all begin each day with a fully included breakfast served on the terrace, offering fresh fruit, croissant, cereal, crusty bread, delicious local honey, yoghurts and home made preserves. Allan will discuss the plan for the day with the painters, while non-painters can share plans with each other and maybe get together to take part in activities with common interest.

Lunch is up to you and can be a simple sandwich prepared in our summer kitchen, equipped with sink, fridge and microwave, or from a Boulangerie. If you fancy a substantial meal at lunchtime try a "plat du jour" from a local cafe.

We will offer an optional Table d'Hote menu on Monday and Friday evening offering great value at 25 euros per head. See sample menus below. You could prepare a simple meal in our summer kitchen equipped with fridge, microwave and crockery, or throw a duck breast onto the barbecue. There are plenty of tables around the garden or you could eat in the dining room if it's chilly. We have a good choice of local restaurants and we could be persuaded to transport you for a small remuneration.

You won't want to move your motorhome so we could take you into Revel on Tuesday after painting to pick up a take away or a bit of shopping and, perhaps everyone could go to Puylaurens market on Wednesday morning, where you could manage a bit of sketching as well as procuring local fruit and veg, cheeses and charcuterie. There are also convenience stores in some of the painting locations - you definitely won't go hungry.
